Chalk Lettering WorkshopS

Lettering on chalkboards serves various purposes, which has now been a staple in industrial and rustic chic designs everywhere.

In the following chalkboard lettering workshops, you will learn various tips from the tools to use (some materials go well together, while some are frienemies!) to techniques involved in chalk lettering.

During the workshops, you get to take home a quality wooden chalkboard suitable for the craft, which you can use to practice at home, or to spice up your cozy corner!

If you can’t wait for the next public schedule, you may contact me for private classes too!

Testimonials

I took Nathaniel Ong’s chalkboard lettering workshop with very little knowledge of that medium. He made sure we have a good understanding of the tools and techniques and how to prepare the board before creating the letters. It’s a great workshop for beginners. It can be challenging but he’ll definitely guide you through, and fun that you can create something with an unconventional tool. Someone with zero knowledge can definitely walk away with a new skill and confidence to create those chalk letterings!

I had a wonderful time learning with you. You are a wonderful instructor. Overall, it was an awesome afternoon. Well spent time and money. I appreciate your helpful corrections and kind encouragement throughout the whole exercise. My take home is the importance of thumbnail exercise which I find essential in my composition. This is timely to learn yet again as I always have the tendency to just dive in straight to my paper or this time.. blackboard.

The workshop experience can be summed up to three words - structured, informative and of course, FUN! The introduction and topic flow surely met the objectives & expectations, especially on how Nate related to his experience with client works. As a beginner, this also taught me the foundations and important concepts in chalkboard lettering. He was also adaptable and flexible based on the level of knowledge of the students while sharing useful tips and techniques. Overall, I must say, this is one of the good workshops worth spending every penny for!
